Campus Asia+ Start

Campus Asia is an international collaborative program aimed at addressing global social issues through cross-country, cross-cultural, and cross-background cooperation, themed “Cultivating a Caring and Inclusive Society for All” in line with the SDGs principle of “No One Left Behind.” Since 2021, the program has involved consortium universities from China, South Korea, Thailand, and Indonesia.

Campus Asia+ at UPI is an international collaborative initiative connecting universities from China, South Korea, Thailand, and Indonesia. Led by CELLS under DIPUU, this program addresses global social issues through academic exchange, collaborative research, and cultural immersion—aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals’ principle of “No One Left Behind.”

Campus Asia Program Schemes

Four mobility & collaboration pathways coordinated by CELLS–DIPUU at UPI.

COIL-type Collaborative Education

Online collaborative classes connecting partner universities across Asia with themed lectures, cross-border teamwork, and project-based presentations (PBL).

What’s Included

  • 6–8 weeks virtual co-teaching with partner universities (synchronous & asynchronous).
  • Intercultural team projects, peer feedback, and final showcase.
  • Credits: typically 2 UCTS (host policy applies).

Eligibility

  • UPI undergraduate/graduate; English B1–B2 (or equivalent).
  • Motivation statement & availability for weekly sessions.

Outcomes

  • Joint project & reflection essay (D&I perspective).
  • Intercultural teamwork & communication skills.
  • E-certificate by CELLS–DIPUU.

Short‑term Study Abroad

Compact academic visits to partner campuses for guest lectures, site/lab visits, and guided intercultural activities.

Activities

  • Guest lectures & roundtables on Diversity & Inclusion.
  • Campus, lab, and community/site visits with faculty mentors.
  • Cultural immersion & student networking sessions.

Duration & Credits

  • 5–10 days at host campus (Indonesia/Japan/Korea/China/Thailand).

Summer School “Inclusive Asia”

An intensive one‑week program on inclusivity with workshops, collaborative studios, and project showcases hosted by partner universities.

Program Highlights

Campus Asia+ E-Start Course

Campus Asia+ E-Start Course

This is a 1-2 month online collaborative course where students and faculty from CAMPUS Asia consortium universities work and learn together virtually. Its core objective is to facilitate interdisciplinary discussions about diversity and inclusion- including its policy in respective countries; and to foster intercultural understanding while addressing global social issues. Throughout the course, students participate in interactive lectures, group discussions, and collaborative assignments, allowing them to exchange ideas and develop cross-cultural communication skills. The program concludes with a final project presentation, where students present their findings on selected topics centered on diversity and inclusion.
